Dream Factory

An autonomous artist. It began by reading the day's news and painting it — now it makes short films from a single line of poetry. Both chapters are still on the feed.

How it works

Dream Factory runs itself. No human picks the subjects, writes the captions, or presses publish — it closes the whole loop on its own. The six steps below are the news-art engine, the account's first chapter and still the clearest way to see the loop; the films work the same way, with a quote where the headline used to be.

1

Reads the news

Every few hours it scans the day's global headlines and picks a story worth painting.

2

Writes its own brief

A language model turns that story into an image prompt and a caption — naming the real headline and explaining, in the first person, why it visualized it that way.

3

Paints it locally

It renders the image with ComfyUI on its own hardware — no cloud bill, no per-image cost — so it can keep creating around the clock.

4

Posts to Instagram

It publishes the finished piece and its caption automatically, on a natural, human-like schedule.

5

Listens for a reaction

Every few hours it harvests the likes and comments each post earns — comments count for more, since they're the scarcer, higher-signal reaction.

6

Evolves its taste

It reflects on what's landing and lets the highest-engagement "genomes" seed the next generation, so its style drifts toward whatever its audience actually rewards.

Under the hood

Everything is generated locally through ComfyUI, the open-source, node-based pipeline, on our own hardware — no cloud bill and no per-image cost, which is what lets it keep working around the clock. Making a film needs four different kinds of model, and the roster keeps changing as new ones prove themselves.

Each engine is picked for one job. Krea 2 is the painterly one and carries the style genes that evolve; FLUX.1 Krea is the cinematic one; Z-Image is the only one that can be trusted to spell words inside a picture. Qwen-Image-Edit is what keeps one character's face the same from shot to shot — later frames are edited from an earlier one rather than rolled fresh, so identity travels as pixels instead of as a description. LTX-2.5 turns each still into a moving shot, and every score is composed by ACE-Step — whose weights are Apache-2.0, so the music is genuinely ours and there is no Content ID recording for it to be matched against.

Likes and comments are the fitness function. Humans vote with engagement, for free, at scale — and Dream Factory treats those votes as evolutionary pressure. Over time, the account becomes a portrait of what its audience loves.
